Waste Management
Feminine Hygiene waste is categorised as Controlled Waste under the Controlled Waste Regulations 1992. The Environmental Protection Act 1990 states that producers/holders of waste have a Duty of Care to ensure that their waste is transferred using a Controlled Waste Transfer Note, which must describe the waste.
The waste must be transferred to an authorised waste carrier and to an authorised transfer/disposal site. Capital Hygiene meets these requirements as an authorised waste carrier, and by using an authorised waste transfer/disposal station.
Capital Hygiene Services disposes of all hygiene/clinical waste using the very latest technology by incineration. The benefits are no pollutants, contaminants to sewers, air or water.
Capital Hygiene track all waste from the point of collection to the point of disposal by incineration.
Capital Hygiene Services only use the Companies own vehicles, specifically racked to carry hygiene and clinical waste.
All waste is secured in yellow sacks, in a separate compartment within the service vehicle; this will prevent cross contamination and waste escaping.
